Today is a multiple album kind of day. Listened to Boston’s debut album, “Toys in the Attic” by Aerosmith, and am currently listening to “Pyromania” by Def Leppard. Probably looking at “Morrison Hotel” by The Doors after this.

my parents got me an early birthday present last night. I got “Paradise Theater” by Styx, an album I’d been wanting for quite some time. A little later, my dad (who’s always been a fan of Dennis DeYoung) and I listened to the whole album. These are the moments that are truly important.

My first loaf of sourdough in the last several weeks, and literally just out the oven less than five minutes ago. The hard part is gonna be letting it rest long enough before I’m supposed to cut into it…

So I have several recipes that I can use my starter in. Might see if I can’t find a few more I can use it in for tomorrow/Wednesday, when I bake again.

Sourdough bread is more than just another loaf. It’s a commitment to keeping a starter, the patience of letting the dough rise several times before it bakes, then most importantly, the ultimate test of will in trying not to slice into it before it cools down…

Tonight I make my sourdough bread, and sourdough biscuits. Possibly English muffins as well if I have enough starter and flour to work with. Pics to come with the finished products

“You know you have to feed your starter…”
“I know, but the bed is so warm, and getting out means I’ll be leaving it behind!”
“You still have to do it.”
Being responsible sucks.
