Reaching out to people is fine. Just don't expect to actually know them. And if you found someone that's stuck with you even during all the shit you're personally going through, when you're miserable, or just at a time when you need someone, then you're one of the luckiest people alive.

...and that's one of the hardest things you have to deal with when growing up bullied and no friends. The same thing goes for online dating.
