nobody asks that question really unless they are trying to be racist, it is considered very rude. i guess we are more accepting of privacy being invaded when its not a direct interaction with another person?

i have seen it on forums for doctors (in the US) i think the data is actually useful if you are trying to reduce institutional or societal racism/inequality
