I think Baz is a better bet to get them more innings in the next 2 seasons, which is probably where their heads are at with it.

Their level of aggression this winter makes me think bringing someone like an Eflin or Sugano back on a 1 year pillow and figuring it out in spring feels quite likely , on top of a Valdez / Imai

Least the coulda done was send back Baker too :( lol

Don’t think you can feel happy going into the season with Kittridge as your 2nd best reliever. Last year he was thought to be what, 4th behind Felix, Cano, Dominguez? In the mix with Baker and Soto? They still need a high leverage lefty and another Dominguez/Baker type, IMO

2003 was when I first really started paying attention to MLB as a child, and I remember being in awe at the O's upgrading from Deivi Cruz to Tejada and Geronimo Gil to Javy. Childhood me thought that was going to be the norm... lol

Have Bucky, Tucker, Tez, and kam Johnson in dynasty (return yards are super valuable) and have no idea what to do with any of them this week

Jesus when you put it that way I just got really depressed about not being on the other side

This (OP) is such a bizarre take because a) the surface level reaction to this move is transparently that Elias is “losing”, so seeming smart is not the angle, and b) this move is so far away from his typical MO that I really can’t bring myself to relate this in any way to typical Elias bashing

What did I miss on Grayson? Seems like this idea he could go to the pen popped out of nowhere, but seen a number of real O’s media guys kicking it around. Did the team say something to that effect?

What, Danys Baez and Chad Bradford weren’t enough for you??

It was a joy to watch Melvin Mora play baseball and should be compensation enough

Met someone at the dog park recently with a German Shepherd pup, who was a "clone" of the genetic father of the woman's late shepherd. The dog-father's DNA had been frozen / stored for years. The pup was IVF'd, cost her over 25K. Its a strange, strange world out there

For sure, and even then the fiscal disadvantages still exist. All things theoretically being equal, Shohei was still likely going to the Dodgers for "the max", not the Pirates, much like how Carmelo and KD were never coming to the Wizards even if / when they opened up the cap room
November 4, 2025 at 6:01 PM
I feel like for a lot of people it boils down at an emotional level to "man i just wish [insert Pirates or other similar team here] could win a few games and be fun again", which I am totally sympathetic to and get. But a salary cap never saved the Browns or Wizards

When these convos come up I often think about how I've never seen people quit a dynasty league because one team is too good or too stacked, but have seen people quit leagues because owners don't participate, endlessly tank, etc. Maybe both happen, but the latter is far worse for comp integrity

I’d say move holiday to the outfield but that arm…

I.e are the orioles and or their players bad at making fast adjustments when it’s needed. Slow start this year, playoff embarrassments. Obviously random variance and bad series happen, but I wonder if there’s a skill somewhere in being able to make rapid adjustments when it’s crunch time.
October 30, 2025 at 2:42 PM
Yea this is the correct take, though I won’t be able to forgive letting the royals off the hook again, smh. Though I do wonder, if you see Petriello’s latest post about Mookie, if there’s something there in regards to being able to adjust approach over short sample sizes that isn’t inherently random

Just make him the manager in years 4 & 5 its fine
October 23, 2025 at 3:57 PM
There’s probably something to be said that guys like Jonesy and Palmer and the alums who are around spring training and the org a lot will remember and embrace him and kind of create that pass through connection to the players. But yea not nearly at the level the fans seem to imagine

It was jut part of a broader trade, was going with Jacobs and Adams to a contender for stroud and a 1st and Franklin and something else. I think they valued it like a late 2nd, since it’s 50/50 to be a 2nd or a 3rd
October 9, 2025 at 5:18 AM
I traded for Diggs last year for a 3rd that bumps to a 2nd if he scores more than 175 points. He’s on pace in our league for 171.5. I’ve since traded him for a future 2nd, and the other manager traded the rights for that conditional pick to someone else. I’m the commish. Fun stuff to track!

BUT how many of them had an NFC player of the week award as well.
