I remember fondly a summer course in restoration ecology that I took from Langridge years ago at UCSC. This is a terrible loss for her, and much more so for the students.

I don't doubt at all that they will try. I just have faith that their efforts will fail. Remember also that everyone else in the GOP has an MO of making a terrible mess, losing an election, then blaming it all on Democrats.

I guess the biggest risk is that ineptitude under Trump foreshadows a much more heavy handed crackdown under his successor. The operative analogy is with Argentina in the 1970s.

Well, also don't rule out the tepid Trump supporters who just want him to be more accountable to Congress. Yes, I know, it's incoherent. Which is why I'm sure there are a lot of voters out there like that.

One issue is that it's a vast oversimplification. A lot of the same ills they attribute to "seed oils" also apply to olive oil, which doesn't come from the seed,but do not apply to sunflower or safflower oil, which do.

In addition, throughout western Oregon and Washington, as well as northern California, the tree frogs in city parks and creeks don't just make noise, they listen very carefully. This is a powerful reminder of the importance of sousveillance. We all must watch, and listen to, the authorities.
