Additionally, I don't want us to overturn successful aspects of our current healthcare system, particularly Union-negotiated employer healthcare and
Multi-employer Taft-Hartley plans. Let government guarantee the floor, so unions, co-ops, nonprofit HMOs, and private insurers can build the ceiling.

Republicans gutted the funding for these cooperative entities, unfortunately leaving us with a significantly weaker healthcare system. With this lingering "unknown" about the ACA, I don't think it's wise to claim Medicare will out perform Medicaid.

Right, and you can achieve the same outcome by combining the #ACA and #Medicare. You don't need to have one replacing the other. One component that's missing from our current system are the "public" insurance co-ops, the 501(c)(29) nonprofit organization designed to compete with private insurers.

I will remember this occasion when my insurance premiums skyrocket because Trump can't do math! Thank you, FIFA, for your worthless gesture. Please do not bother awarding your "Peace Prize" a second time.

So, I asked #ChatGPT to generate an image of Mr. Grinch with a blond toupee comb over; it nailed it. Now, I have a new song to sing this holiday season. Please join me:

🎶 You're a monster, Mr. #TRUMP
Your heart's an empty hole
Your brain is full of spiders
You've got garlic in your soul, Mr. TRUMP!

Then, while watching "A Wonderful Life," on the Entertainment channel, an ad ran pitching Dr. Seuss' "How the Grinch Stole Christmas." I immediately began humming "You're a mean one, Mr..." But, I couldn't say "Grinch" without thinking of Trump.

But then, in Portlandia's typical, "Hey… maybe plant your roots over there?
Or don’t" way, she casually reaches out her opposite hand, lazily extending her index finger and says, "Wanna hear something funny?” 😁 💨

The Wallowas began their comeback tour, hitting the scene like a band named the Ice Sculpters! ⛰️💥🐟 ❄️ 🎸 During the Ice Ages, glaciers carved U-shaped valleys, cirques, and razor ridges. Today the peaks grow only millimeters and slowly erode—but who knows what the next 200 million years may bring?
November 28, 2025 at 4:29 AM
Ol’ Yellowstone moved east thinking it left the Wallowas buried forever… but the fish and magma bellies had OTHER plans. 😎 🤙 As the crust stretched, giant blocks of rock tilted upward along deep fractures, hauling the old magma chambers and seafloor back toward the sky.
November 28, 2025 at 4:29 AM
And then everything was chill for, like, 100 million years… until YELLOWSTONE showed up and said, “Hey, mind if I ruin your day?” 😅 17 million years ago, the Columbia River Basalts flooded the region, burying the Wallowas.

But before the “AGGGG the fish are out of the water!” moment, everything went bang, boom, crash, smashing into North America between 120–160 million years ago. As a result, the giant magma chambers of massive volcanoes pushed upward into the granite peaks of the Wallowa Batholith.
November 28, 2025 at 4:29 AM
Then, things get a little fishy... Yeah! Who knew the Wallowas were once a tropical reef? Around 230–210 million years ago, the volcanism slowed and the arc sank beneath warm seas, stacking thick limestone and marble, a Martin Bridge Formation. Now an entire marine world sits 9,000 feet in the air!

Although politically divided by a man-made border, the Seven Devils in Idaho and the Wallowas emerged from the same ancient volcanic arc - two sides of one drifting oceanic terrain that crashed into the continent. Before white man drew state lines, erosion created the dividing Hells Canyon.
November 28, 2025 at 4:29 AM
Then, volcanism built the crust that later smashed into the North American Continental Shelf, but even more incredible, the granite peaks we see today are the bellies of ancient magma chambers!
November 28, 2025 at 4:29 AM
Consider this: the Cascades are mere babies compared to the Wallowas. They first emerged from an ancient island arc nearly 300 million years ago!

I'm driving to the cabin in Joseph, Oregon my family reserved for Thanksgiving, and as the clouds pass by, Chief Joseph Mountain greets me. I was absolutely stunned and began wondering about the geological history of the Wallowas.
