Movies, Art, TTRPGs, Writing, whatever flicker of light catches my eye that day. I WAS IN A MOTERN FILM NOW I CAN DIIIIIIE HAPPY

When I die throw me into a field
So that I may feed the crows
Thunder storm and high winds on Halloween brown-outed the power right after watching the final films on the list. Phew! Spooky!

The #superscarymovies Challenge from Important Cinema Club is complete! A couple categories I did multiple for, a few films watched that didn't quite fit, but Success!

Gakidama, A Demon Within (1985) is about an hour long, but totally worth a watch for this cute little puppet smashing up a kitchen.

But looking past that; A series of thrillers and serial killers, average overall with some nice standout moments.

I've always had a soft spot for anthologies. Shorter blips are easier to absorb and focus on, great for showcasing a wealth of directors and actors to discover.

I think these films get rough reviews for being a little cheap and, mostly, for being Tales From The Occult without a lick of Occult in them. The mere mention of a ghost in a short has everything come near to a halt as someone explains,

"It's not a ghost! It's A hallucination/VR/Mental Illness!"

Film 23! Post 2000's Hong Kong Horror.

Technically this was 22, but I wanted to just marathon all 3 of Tales From The Occult (2022-2023)! That's the original and sequels 'Body and Soul' and 'Deadly Malevolence' for 9 anthology shorts in about 5 hours!
Phew!

20 films into #superscarymovies, following the guide by DeclouxJ.

This has been an intense month of horror so far. A lot of newly discovered films that don't fit the themes, so I'll probably be watching horror all Nightmare Before Christmas season, too.

Haven't squeezed in Sadako at all! Anyway.

Update on my #superscarymovies challenge! Digging up films I haven't seen, some for now and most for later. Still trouble with some categories.

Movies, so many movies...If I were a vampire, maybe then I'd have time to watch them all. Run a theatre, 20$ or pint of blood to watch all day.

ICC's #Superscarychallenge continues! Ten films in 8 days so far, gotta keep the momentum up and not fall behind. Tricky, juggling a big thanksgiving meal for the same day as

Alright, next batch, starting with...

Horror Bird 2: From The Darkness

Movie#5: A Supernatural Shark!
Ugh...this category was worrisome, but picking between a couple choices, fell into Ghost Shark and so so happy I did.

Average start, boring ending, but the middle is straight crazy town. Film goes all in on Ghost Shark deaths!

#superscarymovies for the ICCSSMC 2025! Getting a little ahead of the one a day for some weekend buffer.

5 down, all pretty enjoyable ones so far! Getting lucky with the picks this October.

Now, talking about my fifth film...
October 4, 2025 at 11:52 PM
Number 4: An Indigenous Film.
Slash/Back (2022)

Woo, Nunavut! A small Inuit town gets some body possessing Alien scouts on holiday when all the adults are drunk at the town social. It falls on 4 girls to defend themselves!

Decent. Little weak, but good Young Horror!

Number 2: Croatian Horror!
The Last Serb In Croatia (2019)

Also the last Rockabilly, Milan Motika smoothly bumbles his way into a massive zombie outbreak in a semi-futuristic, soon to be Greater Slovakia.

Loved it. Like Shaun of the Dead, Zombieland? Watch this!

Number 1: A Horror Film From Kazakhstan!
Sweetie, You Won't Believe It (2020)

A horror comedy to ease into a month of horror films, one I really loved. Energetic, violent, creative, and with a great soundtrack. It really captures that 'villain is out of this world'

Had a grand time with the JFF '24, a wealth of great films I'd never get a chance to see otherwise. Seems like a lot of director freedom, idols into actors, and much like british shows, actors who have been in -everything- for decades.

Finally watched Sadako DX! Ah, my darling Curse of Death~

It has rough reviews, which I can understand, but I actually really enjoyed it. It's a dry yet goofy horror comedy, and it's fun to see Sadako with new abilities.

G-Saviour! The greatest part of the Gundam franchise to date?

In a future where Canada runs Earth, mass starvation looms. Thankfully, one quippy womanizer waffles between wanting to help, and wanting to surrender!
Thrill! As it takes 54 minutes into a 1H33M film for a Gundam to do anything!

They asked for bootleg bart shirts, so I spent way too long making one.
