Bumper crop! Red #tomatoes are sweet. #Cucumber is 1/2 meter! I've been obsessing over quince (on left). In #Oakland, most end up on the ground. Can't wait to #cook w/them, also make jam. Quince is more common in Balkans cooking. I've watched so many videos, even when it's only in Romanian/Magyar.

1st summer harvest, meager, but so tasty! Dark green is Japanese #cucumber; round is also cucumber, lemon cucumber, native to India; little ones are of course cherry tomatoes. Both Japanese & lemon cucumber are quite fruity, a bit sweet & fragrant, unlike the other varieties. Very tasty! #gardening

A few snaps from rural #Vietnam. Vĩnh Xương, An Giang Province, is a frontier town bordering #Cambodia. This area was evacuated after scores of villages were massacred by Khmer Rouge. It is now the epicenter of #Mekong River sand mining to the detriment of wildlife & ways of life of millions.

On the bus... bleary-eyed ready for another 6 hrs of butt massage before arriving "home". Left SFO 11:50 PM Thursday night, but still have that many hrs to go. Well it's nothing compared to 4 days, 5 nights on the high seas & 2 yrs in #refugee camps just to get to the US. #Vietnam #travel

My duty as an overseas #immigrant son: One-yr supply of eye drops for my parents. We all need these as we age. Canvas grow bags & seeds to start a #flower #garden in an effort to peel them away from the TV, which they crank the volume up to 11. Not sure my dad will take to these Bluetooth cans.
