On the ATMA bonus episode this week, we discussed the concurrent decline of movie theaters and movie stars. Peter asked Alyssa and me the million dollar question: movieaisle.substack.com/p/can-movie-...

"Kash Patel's girlfriend is suing MAGA conspiracy theorists for claiming she's a Mossad operative who is covering up Epstein's blackmail ops" is by far the funniest story to come out of this administration so far. www.thebulwark.com/p/kash-patel... x.com/SonnyBunch/s...

Donald Trump's Truth Social platform has an AI function, and the answers it provides are almost in direct opposition to everything Trump posts on the platform. Wonderful stuff. www.thebulwark.com/i/178598098/...

Two things that can simultaneously be true:

1) Hispanic voters agreed with Trump that illegal immigration is bad. And

2) Hispanic voters are intensely disturbed by all the videos of random Hispanics getting shanghaied by dudes in masks.

The new documentary series "Mr. Scorsese" on AppleTV+ is a great portrait of Martin Scorsese, of course. But it's also a crash course in the economics of American cinema over the last 60-some years. A must-watch for students of the business of film. www.thebulwark.com/p/martin-sco...

I don't ask much from you people but I'm officially asking for something now: a grassroots effort to secure Amy Madigan an Oscar nomination for her work in WEAPONS, a bonkers-in-the-best-way performance that ties that whole movie together. Madigan-mentum now! theankler.com/p/oscar-puzz...

I was kind of surprised by how hard SPRINGSTEEN: DELIVER ME FROM NOWHERE hit me. I'm not really a musical biopic guy, but Cooper's film deviates from the biopic formula in kind of interesting ways. www.thebulwark.com/p/springstee...

A distribution like that is virtually always the result of a negative review-bombing campaign that originates on social media, typically motivated by politics. You don’t have to demonstrate you’ve actually seen the movie to leave a rating. Verified audience number at 85% on RT.

I'm kind of mixed on ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER, but one thing I absolutely believe is that Teyana Taylor should be in the awards season mix. The first 40 minutes are relentless in large part because of her vibrancy. www.thebulwark.com/p/one-battle...

I talked to Tony Gilroy, the showrunner of "Andor," on Sunday and had a good chat about the show, the state of things, etc. And I asked him who wrote that "Who ARE you" line from the eighth episode ... he had a great response. (Full episode here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=iaqn...)

(If you're anti-Trump, which I am, this is probably for the best since South Park is actually, you know, funny and thanks to its long history of bipartisan shot-taking has more credibility with the potentially persuadable than Colbert.)

I’m not gonna lie: this line and this line read made me laugh and laugh. It made me laugh and laugh in the 90s and then again 30 years later. Norm Macdonald was the best of us. The new Vinegar Syndrome DIRTY WORK release is amazing.

Scrolling through the Letterboxd reviews for EDDINGTON and a lot of the one-star responses boil down to this meme.

EDDINGTON reminds me a bit of BODIES BODIES BODIES in that it's generally sympathetic to progressive ideals but it takes an absolutely *brutal* scalpel to the absurdities baked into identity politics. www.thebulwark.com/p/eddington-...
