Among so many brave, unwavering & compassionate revolutionaries, Ka Louie was profound in his tenderness, humility & quiet strength -- bearing the powerful dignity of an entire people rising.

There are no words for what's in the hearts now of all those who've known & met him.

Mabuhay, Ka Louie!✊🏽♥️

An elitist president invoking "economic impact" can only mean prioritizing business profits over workers and their families.

That's twice already that he's using presidential influence and public statements to meddle with Congress -- blocking impeachment trial & justice, now blocking wage hikes.

Senate thinks more taxes, laying off govt workers, pleasing foreign investors, extending terms of barangay officials and others are more important than forthwith holding second highest govt official accountable for her self-serving abuse of power.

Looks a bit like neglect of duty and obstruction?

BSP Governor is among highest paid central bank governors in the world -- getting more than counterparts in UK, Europe, Japan and US -- despite Philippines being among poorest one-third of countries in the world (by GDP per capita).

Deserve?

EDSA rebuild is Pres Marcos's Imeldific moment.

Just as his mother prettified Metro Manila for 1974 Miss Universe pageant, 1976 IMF-World Bank meeting & 1981 visit of Pope John Paul II, EDSA is being dressed up for ASEAN Summit in 2026.

It'd take average Filipino minimum wage earner 361 years to earn what highest paid government official gets in a year.

Do government officials work hundreds of times harder than Filipino workers?

Do oligarchs/CEOs work hundreds or thousands of times harder than their employees?
May 29, 2025 at 3:47 AM
If you're in charge of printing the country's money, maybe getting paid so much helps stem the temptation to take some of it home. 😜

But then getting paid so much might also make you think the economy's doing so well even when it's so badly failing so many ordinary Filipinos.

What does keeping economic team say about this Cabinet "cleansing"?

Economic team responsible for economic problems: high prices & joblessness, low incomes & wages, poor public services & pork barrel.

But they're also responsible for soaring corporate profits & billionare wealth.

Ah, gets.

Some ceremonial culling to give appearance of action.

What would changing alter egos change if the principal is the problem?

A takeaway is that govt will respond if people show what they want, which doesn't need elections and can be done daily and powerfully with mass protests and actions.

Btw, beneath the spectacle are the quiet other big winners of the mid-term elections -- billionaire party bloc in Senate grows grows grows.
May 13, 2025 at 3:20 AM
Counterfactual of not cheating is not a win but no cheating. Cheaters can still lose.

Marcos/admin deservedly lost ground to Dutertes and to flickers of pink, but being pleased with results doesn't fix intentional opaqueness and vulnerability of the automated election system.
May 13, 2025 at 1:59 AM
Automated counting is invisible cheating.

Or are Filipino trapos really just more trustworthy than politicians in Germany, France, Britain, Australia, Canada, Sweden, Norway, Korea, Taiwan and other countries which still count ballots manually?

🤔
May 12, 2025 at 12:41 PM
Self-serving trapo elites like this seemingly smart so-called tactical voting -- it keeps the illusion of choice alive.

Let's vote for candidates we really believe in, and not settle for electoral outcomes that don't reflect how we really feel.

Graphic artist made mistake and arrow should point down - growth slowed to 5.4% from 5.9% in same period last year

Slowing growth not surprising with less jobs, worse pay & higher prices, more poor & families without savings, and govt not caring to stop its free market nonsense
May 8, 2025 at 9:45 AM
Biggest party in Congress usually the one associated with president because politicians really do love a winner.

But billionaire NP-NUP-NPC cluster has consistently had most seats since 15th Congress - maybe not coincidentally when their economic fortunes really started to soar.

Hindi makikita sa mga nagpapayaman ang solusyon sa kahirapan.

Kaya kung sawa na sa trapo...

Water we in power for -- richest Filipino Villar wealth soars as husband, wife, son, daughter and Nacionalista Party (with billionaire Manny Villar as president since 2003) stack seats in Senate and House.
May 4, 2025 at 9:21 AM
So, about all this "upper middle-income" status hype...

Most PH income & wealth just goes to the rich, we'll still be among bottom third poorest in the world.

Marcos Jr admin really has to stop with the "free market" globalization nonsense to make things better for Filipinos.
