Oh, Google has been getting worse for a long while now. I’ve switched to Duck Duck Go but frankly it’s not great either, just better. They also have an AI feature but you can turn it off.

Maybe the closest thing I can think of is the Everts and their chastity nonsense. They’re definitely prominent in the Catholic world, or at least they were when I was growing up.

Presumably he wants the aesthetics of Catholicism with all the substance of evangelicalism. Surprising to no one, most of the Catholics involved in right-wing politics are like this.

And I grew up in a family that was actually serious about Catholicism! Again, by no means the most extreme it can get, but it wasn’t exactly casual, either.

Same. People joke about Catholic guilt but I don’t have anywhere near this level of trauma due to a Catholic upbringing. I mean, this level of extreme *exists* in the Catholic Church, but it’s not prevalent, at least not anywhere in the US that I’ve experienced.

Ugh same. I still cannot believe how much of a scam working for Instacart is — I got the same amount of pay for so much less work once I started Uber Eats, although I despised both jobs

Even though on some level I knew I was basically no longer Catholic my entire thought process for Confirmation was, “I better get this done so if I ever leave and then come back to the faith, I don’t have to do any RCIA shit!”
Yet I still was like, “ ah yes, I am a faithful enthusiastic Catholic”

I specify AFAB because Jim subverts the “woman disguised as a man on a pirate ship” trope, but a case probably could be made for any gender non-conforming person.
That still leaves a small list of candidates, either way!
