and that's why i love talking about sonic, unlike other fanbases there's no concensus so you can have actual contrarian discussions without people getting defensive about their favourite games.

just makes me want the game to only use the act 2 design even if it is objectively good design

idk from generations, forces and the generic iconography in lost world i was done with the nostalgia before the game even came out. being an anniversary game don't work when every games an anniversary lol

honestly; mirage saloon, press factory, studio opolis.
i adore the original stages and the act 2 twists on old ones are great fun as well from chemical plants bouncing platforms to flying batteries magnet shield alternative paths.

can i get the design on introducing act 1 to twist it in 2 but damn-

honestly i'd say highly underrated noting how many people refuse to engage with the core mechanic of alternative paths because they'd have to replay the first level, it'd be like saying undertale is bad because ruins is identical in pacifist and geno which is like, yeah gameplay decides your route.
