We do not allow character chao of Sonic OCs! If you have a Chao from your copy of SA1 or SA2, it's alright so long as it adheres to the guidelines in the Discord event rules.

Important information: Event runs from JUNE 2ND TO JULY 2ND. Reservations are proposed plans for art pieces, with a deadline of JUNE 25TH. After JUNE 25TH, priority is given to those who have shown WIPs for submissions to be completed. All submissions MUST be completed by JULY 2ND. Artwork must be fully colored, chao must be summer-themed, and the list of approved chao can be found on the Discord. Choose an item from the following list to feature your chao of choice with. One or more items can be used. Chao Village is a small art event, so there is a limit of 2 (TWO) chao per artist. If making two separate submissions, you must complete the artwork for your first chao before you begin drawing your second chao. Traditional artwork will NOT be accepted unless digitized. Participants MUST join the discord and make a reservation in the appropriate channel. Artwork size is 1000 x 1000 px MINIMUM with a resolution of 72 dpi or higher. If watermarking your work, watermark it ON the art, not outside of the artwork. The background must be completely transparent. Submissions must go in the appropriate channel. NO NSFW OR AI GENERATED ARTWORK WILL BE ACCEPTED. Genderbends and crossdressing will not be accepted either. The approved list of items. Activities: Building sand castles, floating in the water, sunbathing, swimming, volleyball, watermelon smashing, surfing, fishing, windsurfing Items: Shovel and pail, sunglasses, floaties, surfboard, beach ball, umbrella, hats, tropical flowers, drink cooler, anchor, lighthouse, compass, telescope, sailor outfit, ship-in-a-bottle, map, seashells, pipe, kite, cooling fan, life saver/preserver/floaty, tote bag, binoculars, oil lamp Food and Drinks: Snow cone, ice cream, coconut drink/cup, hot dog, lemonade, smoothies, fruit, sandwich, juice/mocktail Animals: Otter, seal, peacock, tropical birds, monkey crab, starfish, turtle, fish Examples of chao that will be accepted. There are more examples on the discord, but this covers NORMAL, HERO and DARK chao variants, as well as many chao face-types and Omochao.
