No, you shouldn’t, because if you have the Switch 2 version of the game, or upgrade to it from the original Switch version, any progress you made in the Switch version, as well as any extra content you got for it, will be carried over to the Switch 2 version.

Yes, you can claim the code before getting the game. And if you don’t, it will be valid until December 31, 2099. And yes, that’s literally what it says. But codes for the Switch version of the game currently can’t be accepted because of the game not being out yet.
