That's the premise. Don't fully agree but it roughly makes sense. Focusing on optics tho: just reproduces reactionary desirability politics.

The problem with centering "theyfabs" isn't that they're bad optics. It's that they don't make concrete, material demands.

I agree that trans women and their material needs should be centered. This goes hand in hand with not discarding inconvenient trans women.

For BioWare especially I find that popular fandom takes are extremely wrong, but the Fade is one I feel more moderate about, admittedly, lol

I found the series unappealing bc all the most annoying posters posted about it- I ended up enjoying, it but disliking The Fandom. Typical!
