As the managing partner of Detroit Documenters, we train and pay everyday Detroiters to document public meetings for the residents who can't make it there.
It's wasteful of Documenters' time (and their supporters' dollars) when city officials cancel these meetings at the last minute.

ATTN Wayne County: Instead of wasting people's time and money, you could just post that the meeting is canceled.
Instead it took three Documenters (one who was there in person), one Docs Coordinator, and two phone calls to Alisha Bell's office to learn we've wasted a huge chunk of our morning.
