dont want to get too pontificating but it goes back into my whole mantra of maybe i say i want something, but maybe in reality i wont when i actually get it.

ive thought about this often. ive come to the conclusion the core of Japanese style RPGs is the melodramatic yap. Playing them can be exhausting, but a lot of indie western jrpgs come off as insincere and lacking confidence as a result. of course, them trying to recreate that would also be bad
