astonishing to me how gov like UK and NZ (increasingly USA too) can have singular political appointee with such unitary power to literally override all known facts/science in blatant pursuit of an agenda. while I agree, I think point might be just how deep into cesspool of hatred/bigotry USA (UK too) has fallen in that if a PotUS (either party) at any point in most our lifetimes said things like this, it'd be covered as if it was outright horrific..it IS "exceptional" how this is now entirely normal

also, imo just a small bit to maybe add there: because Harris was VP at the time, it'd have created its own set of serious issues within dem party should Harris have actively campaigned positions that might be seen as in opposition to what Biden was already doing and she was appointed VP to support

I agree, but also at worst this WILL further ostracize/isolate those like Brianna from support networks while through desperation pushes them to even more dangerous areas of both internet and society. This will INCREASE risk for trans youth. imo? it's actually SICK to use Brianna's murder to do this

SCotUS has made an absolute fucking mockery of Rule of Law and USA as a whole. Absolute deference to Trump using unexplained emergency "shadow docket" rulings for things which are in NO way emergencies all while ignoring absolutely real and provable injuries will be permanent stain on history of USA

fully agree! it's a freedom/bodily autonomy issue not to mention just GD gross how obsessed bigots are with always knowing/referring to other people's genitals..also wouldn't hurt if dems would actually bother learning some quick facts to actually debunk/refute the incessant RW lies about trans ppl

imo should always be noted as much as possible MANY precocious puberty cases, there is no known medical condition/cause and ONLY proven "negative effects" they're meaning here concern mental health due to stigma/bullying/ostracization from peers etc..iow similar medical need and reasons as for trans

while I LOVE watching greens grow, I'm still astonished how UK had 14yrs disastrous RW Tory rule, replaced by Labour gov which turned out equally disastrous and in some ways even more RW, yet somehow large portion UK populace STILL thinks answer is move even more RW with reform? truly wtf level dumb

imo ALL trans/NB etc should have right to individualized GAC..prob is way gov/orgs etc use it is pretty much so: if "true trans" you sacrifice all/overcome every obstacle to medically transition, then are "transsexual" and worthy of protection as trans as they were able to endure our torture program

literally start of this thread was about what do ppl think using term transsexual for who medically transition..I think question, in this time, only helps add to divide/conquer mentality/narrative when anti-trans/gov are not even interested in making such distinction VS want ALL trans ppl eradicated

course not..and that's not really to do with point I was trying to make..Sorry, didn't mean to give impression trans people should need to prove validity, but that we need to be wary setting standards to what level folk need prove "transness" to be legally valid esp as now UK basically says NONE are

example: what if who could be defined as fully "transsexual" also has phobia of surgery itself? requiring dysphoria to overcome fear of surgery is pure bias like they only have valid trans identity if they are willing to sacrifice all to transition? this sort of mentality HELPS bigoted "gatekeepers"

because queer is not same as trans and wouldn't equate being queer with trans identity..also in general a queer person won't "self-ID" as trans and use restrooms etc of genderID VS so called (and undefinable) "bio sex"..what measure? is it full surgery? passability? a few years torture/conv therapy?

it isn't working..instead it helps "divide and conquer" mentality/tactics. bigots will use "vague and unintelligible" to harm trans, but also setting specific boundaries of "who is trans enough" to determining whose identity is valid based is also based purely on ideals..which will helps bigots more
