I hate it.

And, just as much as I hate that my husband and I are so isolated, I hate that we cannot be of practical support and resource for others when they are in emergency.

I want to be so deeply weaved within community that all our lives are places of refuge and care in very real ways.

We care deeply for each other, and many of us are rooting into local communities in very real ways, yet when we're looking for a job or we're in an emergency, there's very few things we can do for each other.

We cannot offer each other money. Or places to live. Or open doors to a new job.

Most weeks I'm speaking to wonderful, generous, throughtful friends and colleagues that feel the same. They might have one or two systems of support and resource they can rely on, but not many.

Sitting at the intersection of ecology, story, and practise, ecological enquiry can bring us an embodied knowing of ourselves, each other, the more-than-human, the Earth, and the universe, as ecological: as entangled, relational, complex, and awe-inspiring.

We seem to be ecological creatures, living within an ecological universe.

Sitting at the intersection of ecology, story, and practise, ecological enquiry is one of many ways we can explore the relationality, complexity, and interbeing that we are so wonderfully entangled within.

This new story holds most people as responding to a wonderful human need to feel at home that, when made tribal and righteous, nurtures walls instead of bridges, blinkers instead of curiosity.

So, I'm going to explore the world with this new story for a while, and see what opens up.

way of communicating or being together, the language we use, our country of origin, what we care about and what we hold as important.

Yet, when I hold the framing of 'most people want to have people they feel at home around', my brain let go of the 'good people' story and I could hold a new one.
