And to be clear, I don’t mean they’re wealthy and also addicted to drugs, though plenty are. I mean, they are addicted to the acquisition of wealth and power. They are sad, broken people no longer able to make sane choices like functional humans.

The wealthy elite are addicts. They cannot prioritize anything over increasing their own power. They would rather be the petty tyrant kings of a world on fire than equal citizens in a world of peace and plenty.

Without disputing any of what you say here, maybe there’s something to be said for trying the buyback scheme as loudly as possible, and double down on communicating that one point: that every single person who’s been living by the coal industry will still have a living. Relentless lefty clarity!

Building, or operating, a fission plant doesn’t get us one inch closer to having fusion.
In the meantime, every minute of it does saddle us with a toxic waste problem that will last longer than all of written history to date.
