Most of the "harmful libertarian doofus" celebrity guys tend to get more right-wing as they age. Maybe he shouldn't have been there in the first place, but kudos to Penn Jillette for going in the opposite direction.

Please think of the grifter consultants who can really use a new bullshit product (AI education software) to peddle to every big corporation.

Mainstream media always describe GOP officials as responsible and fit for office. The same media always describe Dem officials as irresponsible and unfit for office.

The centrist think tank says this program is more meaningful than the New Deal. Why aren't you people applauding more.
December 8, 2025 at 3:09 AM
Failure brings no consequences for Dem insiders--nobody's kicking them to the curb after sweeping losses like a credible organization would. They either think they're doing great or they're lying about it; either way it's a culture of impunity where these people's careers are never derailed.

Which of these Democrats loses more votes for the party--1) someone who is "judgmental" about people's civil rights being removed, or 2) someone who's elected on a promise to enact single-payer health insurance, then once in office says he won't actually do it because go fuck yourself.

When I hear the chant in Bastille's Pompeii, (officially "eh eheu eheu") I always replace it internally with "Marilu Henner"

He's effectively been a 76 year old since he was in his 40s.

It also works because Democrats refuse to do the obvious thing when they gain power: declare that any entity failing to give them the same treatment as their GOP predecessor will face consequences.
December 3, 2025 at 3:30 AM
Mainstream media have spent the past 60 years repeating the same bullshit story nonstop: "dark-skinned man commits violent crime against white people, Democrats let him go free". Normies will keep eating it up until Dems decide to create a competing media narrative, which they are paid not to do.

Often a group which recognizes that Palestine poses a colonial issue, does it in a very different way than we'd like. Some people have not concluded as established fact that the state of Israel, which 164 countries recognize, was a mistake whose 1948 creation should be reversed.

Which is, to be honest, the definition of Abundance.

Trump has also claimed that Venezuela hacked the voting machines to steal the 2020 election from him and that this was an invasion that justifies him going to war with them.
November 29, 2025 at 4:54 PM
Hate to be the one to tell you, but "we" (meaning elected Democrats) are not capable of--or the slightest bit interested in--confronting Trumpism and its agents.

"It is selfish of you not to consider that these people have very wealthy friends, making my collegial relationships with them very lucrative for me." - every elected official who is ostensibly opposed to the right

Nothing limits enforcement more than a refusal to use it. The minute Trump committed contempt of court, the judge had the option to throw him in a cell immediately. Turns out there are 1000 ways to say "nobody is above the law, but Trump is special you see" and we've heard them all.
November 26, 2025 at 8:05 PM
What they generally downplay, but fail to really hide, is that they don't think the "someone else" in question should actually hold Trump accountable.
November 26, 2025 at 7:55 PM
They do have enforcement (contempt, sanctions, summary judgment). There's a reason why having a judge rule against you tends to be something people take seriously. But today the courts make a big show of not using these mechanisms against GOP administrations, and wringing their hands instead.
November 26, 2025 at 7:44 PM
The courts act like ignoring their orders never leads to consequences, so you can't really blame the media for acting the same way.
November 26, 2025 at 4:09 PM
A huge amount of MAGA boils down to "you're not allowed to tell me I'm too old to behave like this"
November 26, 2025 at 3:54 PM
If it makes you feel better, the people calling for a blitz primary weren't actually calling for a blitz primary. They just wanted to goad Democrats into chasing their own tails indefinitely.
November 25, 2025 at 5:42 PM
Completely true. But my point is that in past generations, Dem leadership included people who were there in large part to enact policies that would help ordinary Americans. Today none do--the party is run entirely by grifters who are focused only on angling for private-sector sinecures.
November 24, 2025 at 1:14 AM
The Dem party's leaders are all people who look at the history of Franklin Roosevelt's administration, and the conclusion they draw is "the New Dealers focused on helping people and then they didn't all end their careers getting rich in corporate jobs, thank god our party will never do that again"
