I feel you are putting quite a few words in my mouth. You are probably right that most Americans are unable to provide a proper ‘critique’ of Islam. IIRC, something like 1% of the US is Muslim. Very few of us know much about Islam, so the best we can to is praise/condemn actions.

No, I mean from US based persons. People are more likely to be concerned about what they encounter, and more folks in the US are exposed to negative aspects of Christianity than Islam. It doesn’t mean that there are no problems, just that some of them will be more common based on the area.

Islam certainly has (many of the same) issues, but I think it is pretty fair for more complaints to arise here about Christianity since it the overwhelmingly dominant religion here.
