Somebody using AI doesn't deserve to be making money off of it, yeah. It's glorified plagarism. And also, I'd rather an AI scammer artist be able to do that a few more times than take money from a real hard working artist by mistake.

Against what I don't really carefully. Just be careful what you say before you have all the facts, because you can't take it back once you do. Yk? I'd rather be too generous and earn myself a knife to the ribs than too quick to judge and put one in somebody else's. This is some people's livelihoods

I get that. What I'm saying, is that if you don't know for sure, wait until you do to spread the rumor or take a swing an unsunk nail. I'll be the first to shit talk if it turns out they were using AI, believe me. Until then, I'm watching with a critical eye and taking what I know and weighing it

Yes I know that you're means you are. In the statement, "I can understand that you're dubious" the word dubious is clearly meant to refer to your hesitant or doubtful feelings about the document. NOT dubious as in insultingly calling your assumptions morally suspicious.

(I believe they meant "i can understand that you're dubious" as in "i can understand that you feel doubt/suspicion", not as in "you are of dubious character.")

I'd love to agree to disagree, I just also want to make it clear that accusing an artist of using AI is a serious thing, especially anyone who works for commissions. Just be considerate with how you spread rumors, especially one sided ones.

For one thing, there's distance and shadow and light differences in the lineart vs the picture. The distance between the book and their arms, the overlap in their shoulders... also, why trace the characters and not the background? Yk? Small things, but notable to me.

I did see that and I do honestly believe it was a reference rather than a trace, even if it was AI. Mistakes can get made there, that's understandable. As for why I don't believe it to be traced,

Yeah unfortunately for my sanity, I've been following enough to see all the documents and stuff firsthand and they're just... actual garbage. 😭 both from a human "why would you look at someone's art and say ts about it" and an argumentative "this is actually a bad and unconvincing read" perspective.

I've seen Necro's WIPs and finished art over the years and there just no way they're using AI like the doc says. It's just nitpicking really human mistakes/stylistic choices in their art and it sucks. Their art is much too consistent and their style too unique for AI to ever recreate, lmao.

All that to say, try not to worry about this too much. This whole thing seems like an immature handling of poor communication and teamwork skills, and these folks will probably look back on this in a year or two and feel a bit embarrassed about the whole thing.

I'm sorry this stuff is happening, and I hope you're doing well despite it. However calm the tone of the doc is, their claim is shaky at best and shady at worst. Add that to the immature and graceless handling of the whole thing, and their argument has more holes than swiss cheese.
