Now Baselard is now armed, and how! I also needed to get some of my accessory kits assembled!

The model kit (a kitbash of the Dagger L and Build Strike Gundam gunpla, painted tan, black and orange stands armed, equipped with a beam rifle, anti-beam buckler/grappling hook combined arm, and Schvert Gewehr anti-ship sword. It's aiming it's beam rifle, and raising it's opposite arm to grab the large sword from it's backpack. Codenamed the GAT-03R1-J Baselard, fielded by a squadron of rogue Earth Alliance pilots known as the Jackals, who fought against the Alliance's atrocities during the second Bloody Valentine War. After being taken in by an enigmatic benefactor, their aging Dagger L models were given a drastic upgrade, into something that could stand a closer match to the newer generation Windam and ZAKU Troopers. The Baselard grasps it's weapon with both hands, bringing it's point to bear against an unseen enemy target. The Baselard, like the rest of it's lineage from the Strike Gundam, is designed for versatility, though the improved thrusts and more advanced limbs greatly enhance it's performance in closer ranges. Like this particular example equipped with thr Sword Striker. Like it's rival, the Windam, however, the redesigned shoulder prevent the use of the shoulder equipment modules from the Gen 1 striker paks, but have mo difficulty installing the backpacks. Allegedly, back plugs are compatible with newer generation equipment paks, even from non-Alliance models, but documented evidence of those in use in one of their operations has yet to uncovered. Dagger L parts assembled amd painted, arms and legs from Build Strike next. Not super pleased with how the orange come out, but I've already had to redo the torso, so I'm just letting it go. Maybe when I get around to matte coating it it will be less noticeable >.>

And thus begins the long delayed day of the great work! Or, at least, prep work for the custom dagger I've had in the back of my head for awhile now. The parts I want are pretty compatible, just the first time I've felt arsed to resurface before painting. Wish me luck!

The Viera, Kebun, in a blue and white flight suit, piloting a white mech. It is standing on its launch catapult preparing to deploy. Communications Officer: "GMA-X01, you are clear to launch, stay within 50 yalms of the designated course en route to objective." Kebun seated in the cockpit of his mech, and preparing for takeoff. He's actually found a helmet that fits him! "Copy tha'! All systems be green, an' ready tae go." A red 'danger' light gives Kebun to signal to go. He ignites the thrusters on his machine, and takes off from the hangar. "Kebun Swifthilt, takin' off!" Aided by the hangar's launch catapult, Kebun is propelled upwards, and he brings his thrusters to full burn, making his way towards the mission objective. "I'm out an' away. Time tae see whit this new machine can do!"

The Viera, Kebun holds his sword in a ready position. He has tan/light brown skin, his eyes are green, his hair is brown, that fades to a nearly white color at the tips. The he is clad in a white surcoat, worn above a silver mail hauberk, accented with blue cape. His arms and legs are fitted with additional plate-armor protection, large pauldrons at the shoulders, gauntlets over hands and forearms. His leg harness covers his knees down to his feet, ending in clawed sabatons, that can deliver nasty cuts to an un-armored opponent. Kebun delivers a one handed cut upwards from his right leg to his left shoulder, swapping into an ox-stance position, from which he can parry or deflect a blow from that angle, or followup with a thrust to his would-be foe. Kebun switches into a stylish stance, holding his sword held in one hand over his head, his other hand free and open, ready to strike or grapple. Kebun drops into a slouch to draw his sword from its scabbard. The weapon is a sort of two-handed Saber, with with a fairly straight blade suitable for both powerful cuts and easy to being its point to bear for thrusts. It features simple, crossguard and a knuckle guard that provides a bit of extra hand protection that doesn't get in the way of moving his hands on or off the hilt, or changing his grip.

Vishumo Gerhardt, an Elezen, dressed in a festive Starlight celebration outfit, sits on a stump. A frown is on his face, his legs crossed pensively, hands collected in his lap. He is in the throes of a seasonal depression; lonely on a time of the year that he rightly should be spending with family, friends and a partner, though he's long been without the latter. That lack has eaten away at his psyche and his typical 'workaholic' nature can't distract him from it this day. From his seat on the stump, Vishumo watches the festivities below, the joy that flows all around, but never seems to reach him. The fence before him, placed to keep onlookers on the hill safe from tripping down the hill, might as well be separating him from the rest of the world in that moment. Vishumo buries his face in his hands, in a mix a frustration and sadness. What he wouldn't give to banish loneliness right then and there, but he has no wish to burden anyone with his troubles. Especially in this time of the year. The red-haired elezen leans forward, taking a breath to compose himself. He wears a harder a expression, if only for a moment, to remind himself that he's not here to wallow in his negativity, but to spread some joy and cheer, and he means to do so, even if he'll have to treat it more like a role to be acted on stage.
