City Council Representative - Athens Ward 1, former Ohio University Associate Professor of Social Welfare History and Policy, Criminal Justice researcher. Active Democratic Party member. Enjoys kayaking, hiking, reading historical fiction and non-fiction.
Again, council has no control over schools. As a former teacher I care a lot about teachers. I’m sorry that you are not happy about new housing.

I’ve reviewed all the 5 calls for service in December. Only 1 for noise - none for trash. Very minor. I’ve checked actual UE neighborhood sales records and talked with a local realtor. The values of our homes have gone up - not down. No way would we allow Spire to underserve tenants. Not me!

Not true about city council. Crime rates have not increased. Since October, KG with 191 units has had 5 arrests. Also, Pomeroy Landing may have many ADA accessible units. Few trees exist on that land. See the plans. It can be lovely and add minimal traffic. Council has no influence on schools.

I’m sorry that you feel this way. I’m what way will adding a 50 unit apartment complex adjacent to another one ruin the neighborhood? I live up the street from Kershaw Greene that has 191 units and I’m fine with it. No impact on my life or property values. Glad to add housing.

As a former professor at a major Ohio University who taught social welfare history and policy, to maintain our accreditation I was required to teach about civil rights, worker rights, racial history and enslavement. I could needed to report the policy differences between Republicans and Democrats.

Insane to have this incompetent Trump bootlicker in such a powerful job.

I plan to buy an electric vehicle as soon as there are enough charging stations and the prices come down some more. My Ford hybrid is now 13 years old and still running well. I hope to hang onto it for 2 more years.

Given that there is Zero Oversight of homeschoolers in many states, there are no data to support the assertion that kids are safer being homeschooled. Given the millions of children in public and private schools, it’s rare to read about abuse.

I have no idea what this means

Good one!

This is so terrifying. I had to quit midway through because it was so heartbreaking. I can never unsee this story. It is a cautionary tale that speaks to the urgent need to regulate and oversee homeschooling. One issue that might diminish homeschooling is universal childcare & after school care.

Go Biden! The first president in decades who actually cares more about our nation’s people than about corporate profits!

Another example of why our nation - like every other modern nation - has Universal Health Care.

What a wonderful human being in every way! She is a role model. The Carters had a fairytale marriage that everyone can respect and wish for.

Pay workers more! Tipping is a way for employers to pay less. It’s wrong.

Trump is a wanna be dictator. How can voters not see how dangerous he is to our nation?

It time to change the law to allow direct sales. I’m hanging onto my 2012 Ford Fusion until I find an all electric vehicle that is the right price and capacity for me. I also need more electric outlets in my rural area. I will never buy a gas fueled engine car again. I’m watching closely.
