What if closing the circle and turning inward, while condemning all on the left who criticize as infidels no different from the right wing haters actually hastened the rise of right wing populism?
Why woukd Solnit ever risk leaving the comfort zone when she can close the circle and monetize stoking self righteous rage amongst liberals? Anything but fawning adulation, even left criticism, is cast as right wing hate speech. We've come so far since RS started writing on poitics.
