The first panel shows Kiryu looking disappointed as he says "I was told you were something special! You're just a common elemental type, an Eye of Hellfire user! I'll have you know... I've already obtained four Eyes just like yours in the past! Do you really think YOU'LL fare better than the others?! The second panel shows Kirin looking determined as flames surround his fist. He says "Yes, because I'm fighting for more than just myself, and more than just Hime! I'm fighting for the sake of all innocent Beholders who are denied aid! I won't let you Eye Hunter bastards take away our Light!" The third panel shows Kiryu recoiling in disgust as he says "Ugh, how cringey. How can you say stuff like that without being embarrassed?!" The fourth panel shows flames shooting from Kirin's hand as he shouts "Take this!" The first panel shows the flames dissipating around Kiryu without hurting him. The second panel shows Kirin looking shocked as he says "What?! But... how?!" The third panel shows Kiryu showing off his gauntlet as he says "This isn't just for show, you know. It was designed by my father, and not only can it be used as a weapon, but it can negate the powers of Beholders. Isn't technology just wonderful? Not that you savages would know anything about it." The fourth panel shows Kirin forming a fireball in his hand while he thinks "If that's how it works, then I'll use this... it's a bit risky, but it should get past his defenses!" The first panel shows Kirin throwing the fireball as he shouts "Fly!" The second panel shows Kiryu's gauntlet hand outstretched as he smiles. He says "I knew you lot were stupid, but come on... I already showed you it wouldn't work..." The third panel shows the fireball suddenly changing directions. The fourth panel shows the fireball about to hit Kiryu in the face, but he's smiling and says "Oh. I see." The fifth panel shows blood trickling down from Kirin's mouth as he reels from the pain and says "Ahhh!" The first panel shows Kiryu is completely unscathed by Kiryu's attack as he says "That was a clever trick. You infused a fragment of your soul into your flame so you could control it mid trajectory. I've never seen a Hellfire user do that. Unfortunately for you... I'm the worst opponent you could have used that on. The second panel shows Hime shouting concern as she shouts "Kirin! Are you OK?!" while Kirin wipes the blood from his mouth with his hand as he responds "I'm fine, Hime. Was just a surprise, is all. I still have plenty of fight in me!" He then thinks "What the Hell did he do to extinguish my soul flame?! It should have hit him!" The third panel shows a red aura surrounding Kirin as he says "If ranged attacks don't work, then I'll just have to engage you straight on!"

The Creation of the Eye Hunters It reads as follows: "The relationship between Humans and Beholders was strained, with many Humans fearing Beholders. This came to a head in the year 2350 AD when a man bearing an Eye that would be called the Eye of Destruction appeared and went on a killing spree. In the Humans effort to suppress the killer, the Beholder lost control of his power. This caused the destruction of New Hope City, killing countless people, including the Beholder. Needing order in the chaos, Humans created the Eye Hunters Organization to prevent such a tragedy from happening again."

Chapter 2 - Pages 17-20
Kirin smiles brightly while Hime has a hand to her mouth as she laughs. Kirin: You're our light, Hime. You've saved so many lives, and I won't let the Eye Hunters snuff it out. Hime: My hero. We should get going if we hope to make the next settlement by nightfall. Hime is shown playfully punching Kirin's arm. Kirin grasps his arm. Hime: I *can* take care of myself too, you know. I may not like fighting, but I can if I need to. Kirin: Ow. yeah, I know. Still, my powers are one of the few ways I can be useful to you. Hime looks a bit sad, while Kirin is more solemn. Hime: You're plenty helpful even when you're not fighting. You help ground me. So don't belittle yourself like that. You're the only family I have, after all. Kirin: I know. But, you could have hired more bodyguards, you know. Plenty of us would be willing to die to protect you. Hime looks displeased to hear that as she whispers to herself. Hime: You think that makes me happy hearing that? Kirin looks confused as he couldn't hear what she said, while Hime seems nonchalant. Kirin: You say something? Hime: Don't worry about it. It's more fun just travelling with my brother instead of worrying about other people. Kirin smiles. Kirin: I can respect that. Someone is shown spying on Hime and Kirin from afar with a binocular like device. Kirin: Aren't you tired? We've been going all day, and we have to pass through that small mountain to get to the next village. Hime: I'm fine, Kirin. I can rest once we get there. Kiryu is wickedly grinning. Only his lower side profile of his face is shown. Kiryu: Kukuku... the intel was correct... Kiryu is shown looking down at a pocket watch. Kiryu: Even their timing is... Kiryu's full face is shown as he smiles. Kiryu: Impeccable. Kirin looks defensive as he raises an arm to stop Hime from advancing. Hime looks confused, while Kiryu laughs from off screen. Kiryu: Kukukuku... Hello... Prey! Hime: Who is...? Kirin: Y-You're... Kiryu is seen sitting a rock, his claw gauntlet on the ground in front of him. Kirin speaks from off screen. Kirin: Kiryu... the Eye of Destruction...! Kiryu points a finger gun at them as he smiles. Kiryu: So glad you've heard of me. Cuts back on those pesky introductory speeches.

Chapter 2 - Pages 13-16
Still in the flashback, Kirin tries to remain calm while holding Hime close to him, still out of sight. Kirin: Hime... Mom's... going on a trip for awhile. But I'll take care of you, OK? Hime: Mom's... going away...? Kirin and Hime are shown crying as Hime bawls. Hime: Waaaaaaahhhh!! Back in the present, Kirin still leans against a wall. Kirin (thinking): We never saw Mom again... I'm sure she would be proud of us though. An injured Beholder man speaks with Hime in the clinic from a patient bed. Man: I hear you can fix anything. Can you restore my arm? Hime: Oh my. yes, I can. But I'll need to look through your memories for it. May I? Man: My memories? Is that how your powers work? Sure, if that's what you need to do. Hime: Yes. Simple wounds I can fix without doing so, but to restore something bigger like a missing arm requires me to shape it into existence from your memories. We are shown the man's missing arm is being restored by Hime's powers. The man marvels at his restored arm. Man: Wow. You really did it. This is my old arm alright! The man is now seen sitting on the bed, while Hime questions him. Hime: You're a Rebel... aren't you? Man: Yes. I'm part of a resistance group known as the Beholder Liberation Front. Have you considered joining a Resistance group? We could really use someone with your powers! Hime: Sorry, I'm not really interested in fighting. And too many people need me. Thank you for the offer, though. The man stands up and whispers in Hime's ear. Man: I understand. But if you change your mind... The man is shown leaving as he waves. Man: Just come to that location and say that password. It was nice meeting you! Kirin leans against the wall as Hime stares off. Kirin: Another recruitment attempt, huh? Hime: Yeah. From what I saw in his memories, it's an interesting group, at least. Kirin stares off as Hime looks at him a bit surprised. Kirin: ...I've thought about it. Sometimes. Hime: Joining a resistance group? Kirin looks a bit angry. Kirin: We're trapped in this Hell. You've seen how the Human cities look in comparison. It's practically paradise there. Meanwhile, we're treated like dirt. With the Eye Hunters "keeping us in line." Things won't change if we do nothing. Hime looks a bit annoyed as she glances at him. Hime: If you want to join, I can try to find a new bodyguard. I don't want to stand in the way of your dream. Kirin is shown looking defensive as his anger dissipates. Kirin: No, no, no! You and the work we do together comes first! I'm just saying I understand where they are coming from.

Chapter 2 - Pages 9-12
The young Kirin points forward. Kirin: Mom! Is that...? The mother is shown picking up the baby Hime. We can see she has a Beholder Eye, but it's white, a bit like Hime's. Mother: Hey, little one. You're safe now. Kirin tugs at his Mom's skirt while she looks at him, still holding the baby. Kirin: Hey Mom... is she like me? Did somebody... really abandon her? Mom: It seems that way... unfortunately that can often be the case for us. But I must say, I've never seen an Eye like hers before... Kirin: Really? It looks a lot like yours. Mom: A bit, but hers is a purer white than mine. Hopefully hers has actually powers unlike mine. The young Kirin smiles. Kirin: Mom, can you adopt her as well? I've always wanted a sister! The mom smiles as she looks down at the baby in her arms. Mom: Of course, just like when I found you, I wasn't going to leave her for someone else to take care of. Young Kirin is shown holding the baby, the baby's pure white Beholder Eye being more visible here. Kirin: Yay! You hear that, Hime?! You're going to be my sister! Mom: Hime? Kirin: Sorry... I suddenly came up with that name... I thought it suited her. She looks so pure, like her Eye... Even though she's just a baby, she still reminds me of a Princess... Mom: It's a fine name. Hime it shall be. Back in the present, Hime is looking after an injured man, while Kirin continues to reminisce. Kirin (thinking): That name I gave you back then... It certainly suits you. In a way, you've become royalty to us. Kirin looks angry as he grits his teeth, reminded of a painful memory. Kirin (thinking): I have to keep her safe from those damned Hunters. Hime was only 8 at the time, so she doesn't remember as much as I do and I shielded her from the worst of it. We are shown a flashback from 10 years ago. A 13 year old Kirin is shown holding an 8 year old Hime close to him from around a corner while their Mom is speaking with an Eye Hunter. Kirin: Don't look, Hime... Stay with me... Hime: Ok...? What's going on...? Kirin: Shhhh A cocky looking Eye Hunter without an Eye Patch is speaking with Kirin and Hime's Mom, who looks scared. Eye Hunter: How nice of you to come forward when called. That'll make your sentence lighter. Do you live alone? Mom: I live alone. May I ask what I'm being charged with? Eye Hunter: I don't know if I believe that, but you're the only one we're after today. We've detected that you have an unusual Eye, one that could become too dangerous for us Humans. So we'll need to make sure you're safe. Once we're satisfied, if you cooperate, you'll be released. Mom: I'll admit I have an unusual Eye, but it doesn't do anything. I don't even bother with an eye patch because I have nothing to suppress. The Eye Hunter is shown placing the Mom in the back of an Eye Hunter branded paddy wagon. The Eye Hunter logo is an eye with a sideways line through the iris. Eye Hunter: We'll be the judge of that. Get in.

Chapter 2 - Pages 5-8
Hime smiles as she stands up and puts her hands near the girl, her hands glowing. Hime: Fix you? There's nothing wrong with your brain. You're not the first I've encountered. Luckily for you though, I can work a miracle that can fix what truly ails you. The trans girl grasps their throat as they realize their voice is more feminine now. Trans Girl: W-What?! My voice... The girl hugs Hime, looking extremely happy while Hime places a hand on her back and smiles. Hime: You'll have to grow out your hair and change your clothes on your own, but I've given you a body that aligns with you brain. Are you satisfied? Trans Girl: Yes! A thousand times, yes! The pig tailed girl and the trans girl are seen happily playing together. A young man with an eye patch and light coloured hair wearing a cross, a black jacket and white pants with a dark undershirt is seen with his arms crossed, while Hime glances back at him. Kirin: Seeing your powers in action never fails to amaze me. Healing a broken leg as if it was never broken is one thing, changing someone's sex is another. Hime: It's not like I can do that at will. It only worked because it was the only way to heal her. I can't fix what's not broken, after all, Kirin. Kirin then addresses her more seriously, while Hime looks solemn. Kirin: Well, if you're done playing with the kids, you do have a shift at the actual clinic. That was why we came here, sis. Hime: I know. I wish I could be in multiple places at once. That boy who broke his leg, if I hadn't been in the area, that broken leg could have caused him serious damage. That girl would have suffered in silence for years until it may have eventually killed her. The two siblings are shown walking together as they talk. Hime: And those are just the ones I could save. Countless more die without the healthcare the Humans deny us... Kirin: If it weren't for those Eye Hunter bastards, you wouldn't have to push yourself so hard. They deny us what are basic rights for Humans because they are afraid of us. We aren't even given a chance. Hime smiles as she glances at Kirin, who is less angry now. Hime: It's OK. I know I can't stay in one place for long, but seeing the happy faces of those I help, saving those that I can, knowing I can make a difference in our world... That's enough for me. I know travelling with me everywhere can be a lot... Thanks for sticking with me. Kirin: Hey, it's the duty of the big brother to look after his little sister! And you're all I have left, so I wouldn't abandon you for anything. We are shown the inside of the clinic, where Hime is working. Kirin is standing guard, leaning against the wall, as he reminisces. Kirin (thinking): We may not be blood related, Hime, but we were adopted by the same mother... I still remember the day I met you... It was probably one of my earliest memories... We are shown a flashback from 18 years ago. A mother and a young Kirin are shown walking down a road while a baby Hime is lying on the road ahead of them.

Two young boys wearing eye patches are seen playing with a makeshift soccer ball. One of the boys trips and badly injures his leg. Boy: "O-owwww... m-my leg...I think it's brokennnn, wahhhh! Someone with white lace up shoes is shown. ???: Mind if I help? Hime, the girl shown on the chapter cover, is shown bending down, a glow emanating from her hands as they hover just above the boy's injured leg. She smiles at him. Hime: There. Feel better? Now do be careful next time, you were lucky I was in the area this time! The boy stands up, happy. Boy: T-Thank you, Ms. Hime! Wow, you're as amazing as they say! It doesn't hurt at all! It's like the injury never happened! A crowd of children is shown gathering around Hime. A young girl with pig tails and an eye patch pleads with her. Girl: Ms. Hime... They say your powers can heal anything... Could you even help my friend? Hime: Well, I can certainly try! Where are they? Hime bends down to address a young depressed boy with an eye patch wearing dark clothing sitting on a bench. Hime: Hello there! Your friend wanted to see if I could help you. What ails you? The boy has his eye closed, looking sad. Boy: ...I don't think you can heal me... unless you can fix what's wrong with my brain... Hime outstretches a glowing hand, and seems surprised by what she sees. Hime: Your brain? Let me see... Oh! That explains it! Hime leans in close, smiling at the child as the child cries, a tear streak coming from under their eye patched eye. Hime: You're not actually a boy at all... are you? Trans Girl: H-How... Why... C-can you... fix me...?

Chapter 1 - Bonus Page
The page is an excerpt from the Eye Hunters Manual. It shows the makeup of a Beholder Eye. The text reads: "What are Beholders?" "In the year 2300 AD, fifty years after the conclusion of the End Game War that eliminated over half of the world's population, strange eyed children began to be born in about one in every 100 births. Scientists linked these mutated Humans appearance with the lingering effects of radiation left behind on the world from the nuclear strikes that were used in the War. The children were born with one eye looking normal, while the other was often of a different colour with no pupils. These Eyes were found to be practically blind, with the wielder only being able to see slight shadows. In the year 2310 AD, the first case of one of these Mutants unleashing the hidden power of their Eyes was recorded. These powers were usually destructive in nature, and some wielders struggle to control their power. It was discovered using an eye patch or something to obscure the eye from the outside will suppress this power. Scientists began to call these species of Mutants "Beholders", taken from the phrase "In the eye of the Beholder."

Chapter 1 - Pages 17-20
Eliza looks at a screen where the outline of a girl can be seen on it. Eliza: The Eye you must obtain belongs to this girl. It isn't an ordinary Beholder Eye like the ones you're used to. It's a Legendary Eye just like yours. They call it the Eye of Purity. This is the first time its appeared, which is why it's classified as Legendary. According to our reports, it has the power to cure illness and heal wounds. In other words, it is a direct counterpart to your Eye of Destruction. Kiryu closes his Beholder Eye, looking unimpressed. Kiryu: So what? They all die the same. It's not even an Eye built for combat. Eliza closes her eyes. Eliza: On its own, perhaps. If we had that Eye in our possession, the Beholders would no longer be able to resist us, though. We'd become invicible. That is why we must have it. Furthermore, this girl must be stopped regardless. She is using her Eye to heal those savages. It's making them rather difficult to kill. Kiryu and Eliza both grin. Kiryu: Fine. I'll get your Eye of Purity for you. And I'll kill anyone who gets in my way in the process. Eliza: Very good. I look forward to your inevitable success. Eliza hands over a document to Kiryu who looks confident. Eliza: Your mission briefing, map and target patterns are all located here. Please take them before you leave. Kiryu: Only one Bodyguard? For someone so important to the Beholders, you'd think they would do more to protect her. How exactly is this an S Rank with only one opponent? Eliza gives a stern look while Kiryu brushes her off, walking away with his clawed hand raised. Eliza: It's said that her Bodyguard is one of the best. Plus, with her healing powers, he can quickly recover from wounds, making him very difficult to kill. Don't underestimate him. Kiryu: Yeah, yeah, whatever. I'm sure he won't be a problem for me though. Hopefully he can entertain me, at least for a little while. Kiryu is walking down the hallway with his eyes closed when a voice startles him. A man with a slight beard and reddish hair wearing a blindfold and the Eye Hunter uniform with an "SS" on his left arm is seen talking to him. Man: Going on your first S Class Mission, are you? Better not fail, or they'll demote you back to A Rank. Kiryu looks determined but not confident. Kiryu: Ace... don't worry. I'll succeed, and soon I'll be taking over your Rank as the Top Hunter. Ace: Oh really? How can you take over my Rank... when I can still sense you're afraid of me...? Kiryu: Tch! Kiryu looks annoyed while Ace seems amused. Kiryu: I don't even know how you knew it was me walking by without being able to see anything, you blind bat. Ace: Don't underestimate a blind person's other senses. I could tell it was you from the way you were walking, and I confirmed it when I smelled your hair gel you use to spike your hair. Kiryu walks away, his back to Ace, while Ace taunts him a bit. Kiryu: You really piss me off when you do that... Ace: Good luck, Kiryu... You'll need it. Kiryu: Oh, I doubt that very much... killing that girl will be... fun.

Chapter 1 - Pages 13-16
Eliza quickly turns to look at the Director who spoke up. Eliza: ...Sir? Director: I will personally fund the development of turning the Eye of Destruction into our own personal weapon. There is a bit of a risk involved, but I can't ignore the possible rewards. Dr. Jun Hikagi, I expect your full cooperation in this matter? Dr. Hikagi is seen saluting. Dr. Hikagi: But of course. Another Director on the screen speaks up while Dr. Hikagi looks skyward with his eyes closed. 2nd Director: Keep in mind, Hikagi, if he becomes too dangerous... we will order the project to be shut down. Permanently. Dr. Hikagi: ...I understand perfectly... We are now back in the present of 2618 AD. An older Commander Eliza Harrington, now with visible wrinkles, is seen talking to the Board of Directors on the screen again. Director: Are you sure sending Kiryu for this mission is wise, Harrington? He was only recently appointed S Rank, and this is a priority one mission. Failure is not an option. Would it not be better to send Ace? Eliza: Ace may be our best, we can't overuse him. We don't know how much longer he'll last as it is. I'm confident Kiryu is our best bet. The Director appears stern. Director: Kiryu is destruction incarnate. The original wielder of his Eye was the very reason we were created in the first place. Overusing HIM could cause us some complications. Eliza appears confident as she smiles. Eliza: Don't worry, I'm well aware of that fact. However, Kiryu can obtain Eyes easily without damaging them. Some of our other Top Hunters are bit... riskier in that regard. He'll pull through for us, I'm sure of it. Eliza sees Kiryu enter. The screen with the Directors is blank, showing the call is over. Eliza: Ah, Kiryu. I see you got my message. Was it Raito or your father who told you I was looking for you? Kiryu looks annoyed. Kiryu: You mean THAT guy was supposed to give me a message? All he did was get snarky with me... Eliza: Wait... don't tell me... you didn't...? Kiryu gives an evil grin. Kiryu: No. My father stopped me. I would have though if he hadn't come along, heh. Eliza has a stern expression as she chastises Kiryu. Eliza: Let me remind you, Kiryu, that attacking Eye Hunter Personnel is against hte law. You are not above this. I'll let it slide if he's unharmed, but don't let it happen again. Kiryu looks annoyed at the lecture. Kiryu: Are you done preaching, Commander? Or are you going to actually tell me what Mission you've assigned to me? Eliza rests her hand on a desk while Kiryu looks confident with his arms crossed. Eliza: ...Very well. This will be your first "S" Class Mission. It will be extremely difficult, though an S Rank like yourself should have no problem with it. Kiryu: Hopefully it's as tough as you say. I've been itching for a real challenge. Eliza narrows her eyes. Eliza: I must also add that this Mission is of the utmost importance to our operation. Failure will not be tolerated... the target's Eye must be fully in tact so that we may extract it. Kiryu: I can see why you chose me then. Obtaining undamaged Eyes is my specialty after all.

Eliza is seen watching the delivery from a viewing window. A scientist with thick glasses is seen approaching Eliza. Eliza: Ah, Dr. Marwood. I take it you're here to report on your progres on Project "Ace"? Dr. Marwood: Yes, Commander. Project "Ace" is coming along quite swimmingly. My efforts to create the strongest Eye Hunter this organization has ever seen will soon be paying off. The transplant of the two Eyes were a success, and initial tests are showing no signs of instability... however... Eliza looks concerned. Eliza: However? Dr. Marwood looks solemn while Eliza is saddened by the news as she closes her eyes. Dr. Marwood: Initial testing is showing what we feared. By my estimation... "Ace" will only last about twenty years, at best. Eliza: Twenty years... for a boy that young... I wish there was another way. Dr. Marwood looks insulted. Dr. Marwood: Need I remind you, Commander, that my test subject volunteered for this procedure, knowing full well the risks involved. Not to mention the boy was born blind, and he is still marvelling at the level of sight the Eyes give him, even if compared to our standards those Eyes are nearly blind. Eliza turns her head to look at Dr. Marwood, appearing apologetic. Eliza: Yes, I apologize if you took my words the wrong way. Please keep me updated on his progr--" Eliza is started by a scream. Nurse: AHHHHHHH!!! Eliza looks on in horror from the viewing window as she sees baby Kiryu. Eliza is looking at a monitor where people are shown to be on a video call. Dr. Hikagi enters from behind with a cigarette in his mouth. Dr. Hikagi: You... wanted to see me, Commander? Eliza: Yes. In regards to your newly born... son. Eliza turns to look at Dr. Hikagi, who is shocked by her words. Eliza: I was just discussing with the Board of Directors about what we should do about him. My recommendation to the board was to have the baby executed, however they would like your input as well. Dr. Hikagi: E-Executed?! But he's just a baby! Eliza shouts in anger. Dr. Hikagi: ...Everyone in the Eye Hunter Organization would recognize that Eye. It's the Eye of Destruction... Eliza looks stern. Eliza: Yes. The same Eye of Destruction that blew up New Hope City two hundred and fifty years ago. The same Eye of Destruction taht led to us being created in the first place. The child must be destroyed before its destructive power comes to light once again! Dr. Hikagi is searching for an answer while Eliza looks curious. Dr. Hikagi: But what if... what if we can harness that power... Eliza: Harness it? What do you mean? Dr. Hikagi takes another smoke. Dr. Hikagi: I propose we make him an Eye Hunter. Raise him in a controlled environment. The Eye of Destruction once created us. It can also help strengthen us. With my son's power on our side, the Beholders will cower in fear. Eliza seems offended by the suggestion while a Director on the video call responds. Eliza: That's preposterous! What you're suggesting is so insane that it's-- Director: Brilliant.

Chapter 1 Pages 5-8
Kiryu is grinning evilly as he still holds the A Rank Hunter against the wall. A man with a slight beard wearing a lab coat and a tie with the marking "H Sc" on his lab coat is approaching. Scientist: Let him go this instant! Kiryu looks annoyed as he turns to face the scientist. Kiryu: Tch! Kiryu has let the Hunter go, as the A Rank Hunter crawls on the ground in a hurry to get away from Kiryu. Kiryu has a mocking expression as he taunts the Hunter. Kiryu: Run, run, as fast as you can! Hyahahaha... where is your bravado now, little man?! The A Rank Hunter walks just past the scientist but addresses him. The Hunter has regained his composure. A Rank Hunter: You would do well to control that son of yours, Dr. Hikagi... before he starts trying to kill his fellow Eye Hunters and we have to hunt HIM down instead. Dr. Hikagi: And you would do well not to provoke him, Raito Yumura. Kiryu earned his rank. You are no match for him. Raito, the A Rank Hunter, points at his eye patch in annoyance. Raito: Oh, really? That has yet to be proven... If I didn't have my eye patch on to suppress my powers, your would be have been a dead man! Why a Beholder bearing that Eye is even allowed to be in our ranks is beyond me! Raito is seen walking away as Dr. Hikagi addresses Kiryu. Dr. Hikagi: Inane rambling aside, you are wanted at Mission HQ, Kiryu. You better hurry and report, or the Commander will get upset. Kiryu grins. Kiryu: Yeah, whatever. It better be good this time... I'm getting bored from all of these easy missions. Dr. Hikagi is seen lighting up a cigarette. Dr. Hikagi: Don't do anything foolish, Kiryu! Dr. Hikagi (Thinking): Not when we're so close... A woman wearing the Eye Hunter uniform is seen looking at a monitor from behind. Woman: Eighteen years and its come to this, has it...? And to think, back then I didn't see a use in him... We are now in a flash back from 18 years ago in the year 2600 AD. A younger Dr. Hikagi is seen with a cigarette in his mouth in a waiting room. A voice calls out to him. Unknown: Dr. Hikagi... what have I told you about smoking in the medical wing? Quite frankly, you shouldn't be smoking indoors at all... Dr. Hikagi looks at the voice. Dr. Hikagi: If I'm not allowed to smoke, how else am I going to deal with all of this pent up stress... It's now shown that Dr. Hikagi was addressing the woman from earlier, her face now shown. She has short light coloured hair. Dr. Hikagi: ...Commander Eliza Harrington? Eliza: There's a wonderful invention called a "stress ball", you know. Dr. Hikagi stares off. Dr. Hikagi: Do I look like some brute that relieves stress by squeezing some stupid ball? I'm much more sophisticated than that. Eliza: Of course you are. Dr. Hikagi is shown throwing out his cigarette while Eliza follows behind him. Eliza: So, you're finally going to be a Dad, huh? Dr. Hikagi: Seems that way. My wife has treated the whole thing as practically a nuissance though. Says it gets in the way of her research. Eliza seems amused. Eliza: Haha, that certainly sounds like Jeanne. She's always been pretty dedicated to her work. Dr. Hikagi seems depressed by that statement. Dr. Hikagi: Sometimes a little too dedicated. A female nurse calls out. Nurse: Dr. Jeanne Hikagi has gone into labour and will be delivering soon. Please follow me if you'd like to be with her.

Kiryu, the man showed in the chapter cover, is walking down a hallway with his eyes closed. A blonde haired man with an eye patch and wearing the same uniform as Kiryu but with an "A" mark on his left arm instead seems annoyed by Kiryu's presence. A Rank Hunter: Tch! Look at you looking all smug... Hmph! You're only an S Rank because your father is Dr. Hikagi--! Kiryu's claw comes up near the man's face, surprising him. Kiryu is digging his claw into the wall, a SFX of "KE KE KE" is shown. Kiryu looks smug. Kiryu: Is that so...? Care to try me? The A Rank Hunter looks scared. A Rank Hunter: ...! The A Rank Hunter looks more scared. A Rank Hunter: Y-You... wouldn't dare...! Kiryu looks cocky. Kiryu: Oh? Watch me! The targeting reticule in Kiryu's left eye begins to spin around. Kiryu grabs the A Rank Hunter with his claw around his neck. A *B-BMP* SFX is shown as the A Rank Hunter's heartbeat is heard, as he looks more and more frightened about what's about to happen. Kiryu is distracted by a new voice. Unknown: KIRYU!!
