I designed a pretty simple quad vactrol VCA, sent it off to be manufactured, and it worked. I am feeling inordinately proud of having designed a (very simple) PCB that worked the first time.
It's for the AE Modular format, and I am going to use it for both beeps AND boops.

Look, this PCB is bad! It must be a manufacturing problem, right? I had JLC do all the surface mount stuff and I soldered the through-hole parts and headers. See, I even marked it bad and left it on my bench for a couple of months until I had time to sit down and troubleshoot it.

Bike showoff 2: My Lynskey, bought from the Pro’s Closet back when that was a thing, with a Campagnola groupset, a fancy 3d printed saddle and even fancier carbon Campy wheels. Incredibly confortable, the best bike for long long rides. Titanium frames resonate with the road— it sings as I ride.

I built this New Albion Privateer frame up as a cheapish 1x all-road bike a few years ago. Every so often I remember how fun this one is and take it for a spin. It was nice out today so I skipped Zwift and rode around by the bay instead. 100% headwind, 0% regrets.

Sometimes you just get way too into ordering parts and click too fast. At least I have my work laptop and its VPN handy so I can order bits for the Indifferent Engine Janky Tape Echo, which looks like a lot of fun.

A bunch of the PCBs for Faux Cyrillic’s conversion of the Mutable Waves Plaits eurorack oscillator to AE Modular format just arrived! Only a couple of parts to order and I can sit down and do a little soldering. 8)

And now, the free CAAD5 is pretty much finished. Sora 3x9 shifters, Tiagra triple crank, all of which is, I’m sure, smoother than the original 105 from 2002 or the 2007 Ultegra shifters. It’s a bit twitchy, but really hauls when I get it going. Should be a fun lil bike to bang around on. #bike
