I do appreciate how DBT understands and works with the idea that the emotions we feel in response to something are often the correct emotions, but it's the intensity of those emotions that can cause problems, and there are tools/skills to help modulate that intensity

but I'm still new to DBT and I don't know much yet, maybe I'm misinterpreting the intent or purpose of the terms being used, maybe there isn't a hierarchy at all and I'm overthinking things again
