IIRC the change to calibri was primarily a cost saving measure. Small reduction in amount of ink used may not make a difference for the average person, but aggregated over the entire US government it adds up to millions of dollars a year.

Turn it into a dummymander. If they spread themselves too thin, a big swing like what we saw in TN can paint blue on the second map.

The admin is leaning heavily on “…subject to the jurisdiction thereof…” to argue undocumented persons aren’t covered. It is a bad faith argument and wrong, but this SCOTUS might give it to them.

No one opposes voter role maintenance. Millions of people die in the US each year and need to be removed. It is routine/normal.

The only opposition comes up when it is done en masse right before an election b/c it makes it a pain in the ass for valid voters that don’t realize they were purged.

Even if they had a radio and were trying to use it, you cannot say they were trying to continue the drug run without intercepting the transmission.

If I survived getting blown up in open water, I’m going to use my radio to call for help.

I like the idea of a vegetable garden to supplement food supply, but not my area of expertise. going to try starting one next spring.

If you are on a budget, dried beans and rice are a good option. Remember you need to soak most dried beans for hours to make them edible again.

- Where do you go after you evacuate? Rally point near the house to make sure everyone is accounted for. After that?
- How do you communicate?
November 29, 2025 at 4:42 PM
Example: house fire
- How are you alerted? Do your smoke alarms work
- Fire size? Can you put it out? Do you have an extinguisher? what type of fire is your extinguisher rated for? (differences based on type of fire)
- Can you evacuate safely?
- Can the rest of your household evacuate without help?

Water purification is also an option, but requires you to have the means to purify ready in advance (filters, stove for boiling, etc)

If you have some notice (eg the case of hurricanes) you can fill as many containers as you have from the tap before it hits.

Correct. He was an Al Qaeda jihadist before his organization split from them around 2017.

He/HTS has appears to be changing for the better, but I worry it is a facade to make nice with the west.

Some engagement and pressure might be worth trying, but not with the orange buffoon Leading. The current administration isn’t interested in fixing the humanitarian situation Trump is doing favors for his buddies over on the Persian Gulf. HTS will get a pass and nothing improves.

I have seen firsthand what groups like HTS do. I don’t trust a PR campaign and new coat of paint on a group that has stoned women to death for being raped and continues to brutally enforce sharia law.
November 11, 2025 at 6:04 AM
They may have defeated Assad (a very bad man) but they are still terrorists and their victory is not a victory for the people of Syria.
November 11, 2025 at 4:48 AM
“No evidence that HTS was affiliated“
“Affiliated with Al qaeda before becoming a splinter group”
Evidence they maintained ties. Likely an attempt at rebranding. HTS is still Salfi Jihadist, imposes sharia law, trades women as slaves, and uses children as suicide bombers.

That is Ahmed Al’Sharaa. The current president of Syria and also the leader of the Al Qaeda affiliated terrorist organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (hts). His organization lead the push to overthrow Bashar al’Assad.

The oscillation appears to be intended to keep it at a fixed elevation counter to the effects of tide and currents. Might be possible to have a passage possible with shallow draft and high tide that is effectively mined at low tide. I‘m not a Navy guy though, so idk.
