We're facing $27.5M in cuts at UNL, on top of $75M since FY20, and they're closing departments and cutting programs while further raising tuition. Meanwhile, they're sparing no expense on extravagant luxury for a football team with a cumulative losing record over the past 12 seasons.

They sure seem to share a lot of things in common and frequent the same spaces. Perhaps that's not surprising for best friends? But I have it on good authority that no one has ever seen Dani in the school library, but they have seen Jesse studying there—alone! Makes you think.

Jesse doesn't vape at church. Is that particularly surprising? Not really, but Dani doesn't go to church. Jesse doesn't vape around her mother, who has never met Dani or even heard of her for that matter. But now they're vacationing in Florida together for spring break? Really?

Jesse moves away after graduation and decides to quit vaping. Who shows up just as Jesse is trying to improve herself? Dani, who is conveniently ignorant of Jesse's attempt to quit. Jesse relapses and of course it's Dani's fault, just like how my evil twin ate the last of my son's Halloween candy.

For instance, we know that Jesse's preferred flavor of vape is snickerdoodle, but she's not picky. Her Starbucks order is a double-shot dirty chai latte. Does she like snickerdoodle because it shares a flavor profile with chai? Vice versa? Does she take Adderall for her ADHD or does Dani?

Introducing Jesse, a senior in college enjoying a fun and relaxing trip to Marcos Island with friends over spring break. We will learn a lot about Jesse, her vaping habits, and her relationship with her bestie and chief enabler—Dani—over the course of this review.

Our mini review in JEP: Animal Learning & Cognition is now online ahead of print. It's a concise and hopefully thought-provoking discussion of our work over the past couple decades on interoceptive conditioning with nicotine. Also featuring a recurring vignette that we had far too much fun writing.

This model has a lot of exciting potential for a variety of long-term self-administration projects that would not be feasible via IV.
