My advice would honestly be to stay informed on those countries no one knows the names of. Information is key, dictatorships try hard to avoid public attention, the victims speak anyway. Listen 🩷

I got to the United States with PTSD, Fear of cops, fear of loud noises, and constant fight or flight. But to the US, nothing had happened. No one knew this was happening. Many people still don’t know it happened and that’s probably what bugs me the most. No one knows.

I lived in Nicaragua from 2-14 and moved to the US following police brutality, intense militarization, and incessant killing. To answer the question, I didn’t handle it. My mom did, having gone through this before in the 80’s, she got us out. However, for the rest of the world, nothing happened 1/?
