Doujin circles are entirely entitled to care about actually being paid for their work-and while thankfully music distribution services have mostly fixed this problem and have let everyone win-I don't think people should be surprised when stuff like this happens.

Being paid in exposure doesn't always work, right? Alstroemeria Records may have made the singular most popular Touhou arrange of all time, but how many people know them outside of that? Same goes for most other circles that had their "one hit wonder" of sorts.

Yeah, that really made me raise an eyebrow as well. I kind of agree with the idea that ZUN doesn't have much to lose in regards to YT uploads. But doujin circles spawned from Touhou cannot guarantee return investment nearly as easily.

I have a couple of friends who have personally had very poor experiences with Touhoufest's staff, so seeing this situation come to light (and seemingly only get worse?) is not surprising but still disappointing. Really hoping that things get better, I know people have poured so much into this con.
