No mention where all the water will come from for cooling & fire suppression. A single datacenter building uses millions of litres of potable water a year. It needs to be clean. Curragh acquifer isn't. Public money to build infrastructure to pipe water to datacenters in the East rather than housing?

WWI soldiers of the East Lancashire Regiment got a taste for Bénédictine liqour while stationed in France - People in Burnley still drink Bénédictine with hot water, known as "Bene 'n' 'ot", and Burnley Miners Club is the largest single customer.

Deo Optimo Maximo indeed.

Majority of women depicted in Dublin's statues are figurative or fantasy women. Anna Livia, Molly Malone, 'Ladies with shopping bags' etc. The 3 Fates. Not real women. That speaks volumes too.

Great episode. The tangled webs we weave. Hope you will also be exploring the war nobody has ever heard of (>20 million deaths) - the Taiping Rebellion - partly caused by that other opiate, Christianity. The work of another mandarin - and featuring Empire's Austen Powers, Maj Gen Charles Gordon.
