Event done, 45 wins and 7 losses. Wrapped up with he remaining 5 with a Celebi deck so I can flip coins like a fiend.

Not to forget, I hope everyone remembers the reason for the season: Coming together to play great games with great friends and family!

-One A1 Raichu out for A1a Raichu. While it costs more to retreat and lacks that game-ending spike in damage, the fact I can attack more than 1 turn in a row with it and apply bench pressure is nice. May revert this change in the future.

-Both A1 Pikachu out for A1a Pikachu.
This adds potentially more pressure in the early game and can help KO flying and water types before they evolve.

The upgrades to this deck from the Genetic Apex format:

-A1 Pincurchin out for A1a Electabuzz. This gives Lt. Surge an other target while allowing me to hit harder and soften the bench Pokémon.

Much like every other illusionist, I had a lack of friends and wanted to make my own. Really though, I enjoyed Dori and the Solana themes and adore angelic iconography so Prism was made for me.

I really enjoyed the display of the sometimes conflicting feelings loving a hero does to a player where you’re happy to see success for them but also sad when the time comes for Living Legend. Very much why I like to stick with a class and hope for those heroes return in another form.

Totally valid! The Ira - 1st Strike - UPF progression allows you to wrap up in 3 rounds to keep the pace light and quick and uniformly within blitz-style play :)

If that kind of multi-step approach doesn’t work due to having a lot of people or CC not being a thing done at your store:

Ira deck into 1st strike into UPF with any blitz deck can be a fun way to bring everyone together for a shared experience.

How I teach nowadays:
Game 1: Ira Welcome Decks

Games 2 & 3: 1st Strike Decks (turn with each hero)

Games 4 & 5: using a second copy of each strike deck, add the 3rd copy to one of each deck to make it a 60 card cc legal deck and double the life totals of Terra and Aurora (turn with each hero)

Yeah! I hope an adult form of Terra comes out soon so I can have a more official way of conveying the double health for both heroes.

Adding a third copy to each deck makes it an even 60 which helped them get their heads around the “long” game.
