A Silky is probably the best you can get. They aren't perfect but it does def help
To combat tangling you can crimp the underside as Lutavia said or add a piece of tulle along the nape to seperate the wig from your clothes
I also reccomend a wig conditioner

And that's everything caught up!
I did paint the kettle but I forgot to take pics so that will be a problem for tomorrow me

Less exciting but I also made the teeny tiny clip that goes on her journal
This was texture again with modeling paste then rub n buff for painting
It doesn't have a real spring since it will be permanently affixed to the pages.

Onto the slinger, which I modeled through brute force of my limited Fusion 360 skill set.
After going through a couple rounds of sanding I stippled on gel medium to texture the metal parts and modeling paste for the bone.
Both used various methods of dry brushing to get to the final result

I had to buy ANOTHER fancy embossed hide 😭
Miss Alma you are so expensive

As for the jacket assembly a majority of the parts of have been cut out. I'm essentially applique-in each part onto an understructure so I don't have to play with the curved seams.

After I restain the red parts I'll start on the assembly but you can already see the shape forming

When the jacket is fully assembly I'll be adding some thin silicone appliques on the portions where the lining is visible (ie lapel and sleeve cuff)

First test pull was too thick so I needed to reprint the mold

This is dragonskin with a little mica powder for the color

I have this deliciously texture cotton for my coat lining (same weave as my romper). Since it's cotton it took fiber reactive dye well after a couple of batches to adjust the tone
With stencils I 3D modeled and printed I stippled on the coral pattern with fabric paints

I needle felted the diamonds on her bandana and styled her wig. It was a little to capture the wispy stylized hair Wilds has but I think I did OK
This is a Charlie in black brown from coscraft. I probably should have ordered something a littleeeee thicker

A lot of progress has been made time for a catch up

Learned how to cable knit so I could make the bottom of the jacket (which you won't even see)

It was super easy to stitch it on by hand

I know my girl is gonna look great in the gear set

What's this? Returning to an old project?

A sweet friend was looking to get the helmet off their hands so I happily took it.
After a quick paint job to match my silver tones, I made her spooky eyes with few layers of black mesh and fabric highlighted with holo paint

The final product needs weathering but I'll wait to do everything at once.
If I have time I may make an insert with some possible sketches she could have in the book

I think so far my journal is my favorite part. I took apart a couple of mini spiral bound notebooks and rebound them using the Japanese stab binding technique because it was easy.
To make the covers I heat and bonded a thick stabilizer to the outer fabric and stitched the seam allowances down

Finally have more to show!!
The romper gave me some trouble but I didn't let it beat me. The lacing on some of the seams is such a charming detail
I also finish knitting the base of my bandana, cazy how nicer it gets after wet blocking
