If you’re owed a refund the IRS has a certain amount of time to get it to you before they have to start paying interest. Most of the people fired yesterday and today weren’t working with 1040s for 2024 or with refunds.

I hate when I’m right sometimes. If he gains access to IDRS and can figure out what he’s looking at we’re all screwed.

They did at least comply with the order to notify federal employees by COB. It’s not much but they usually send the emails after everyone is gone.
