Yeah, the disconnected voter who feels safe can be moved by honest listening and conversation. Shouting feels good to the shouter, but isn't that useful for changing minds.

Always need to remember how disconnected most people are from politics, and how arbitrary most peoples personal politics are. Most people don't systematically construct their worldviews, and if you are nice and listen most will hear you out and maybe even shift your way.
