they have never tried to make a world where politicians couldn't be bought & profit wasn't the true ruler & people's lives were prioritized over capital. because that is the system that brought them into power. & even if they're shocked at the brazenness at the moment, this is their system /still/.

and i genuinely think even where they have the power to stop this, they are not going to. because ultimately and eventually it would stop them too.

and more than that. the system functioning like this - where democracy is dead and politicians can be bought and corporations control the government is LITERALLY the system that keeps THEM ALL IN POWER TOO.
