I'm new here
“Honorable and honest” from someone who treats indictments like loyalty badges is certainly… a choice. It’s like asking the fox to supervise the henhouse and promising he’ll take notes. If credibility were a prerequisite, this press statement wouldn’t have made it past the driveway.

Exactly. You can’t argue tax “doesn’t pay for anything” and then quietly rely on it to fund… well, everything. If revenue really didn’t matter, HMRC would be a charity shop with a kettle and a donation tin. Funny how austerity always stops at the loopholes.

Couldn't agree more

Neil Young really said “I warned you” about 50 years early. Protest song turned documentary. Tin soldiers, ICE agents, politicians shrugging and saying “nothing to see here” the remix nobody asked for, but somehow always on repeat.

Same here. You don’t have to agree with everything the Guardian publishes, but at least it’s journalism rather than corporate spin. Neil Young’s been consistent about that for years, he actually lives his principles, which is rare.

Exactly. You don’t get to preside over the damage, then rebrand yourself as a victim of it. She wasn’t “politically homeless”,she was at home, in charge, and making it worse. Reform is just the mask finally matching the face.

Exactly. Media amnesia in real time. They launder the record, flatten the facts into “both sides”, and sell failure as credibility. If this is a “viable option”, it’s only because the press keeps propping it up.
January 27, 2026 at 10:33 PM
The insults are easy, but the record is the real indictment. She had power, she failed, and now she wants applause for disowning her own decisions. That’s not “politically homeless” that’s accountability avoidance.
January 27, 2026 at 10:30 PM
Exactly. Billions at stake, no accountability, and apparently no urgency to even appoint a tax minister. Funny how “not important enough” only applies when it’s ordinary people losing out.
