Another repost to correct my last. The AI image was included in the presented article and reattached to this post by Internet Archive. However, I will point out that the alt text here frankly does a worse job captioning the image than the article's citation by not mentioning AI generation.

Every once in a while I can get mad about random nothing posts as a treat. But I hope you see why this one is particularly bothersome.
Text description: I do not really care if the article discusses AI or if it's a social media post, imo the image represents the desecration of reliable, informative databases (and just looks uncanny and unpleasant). An archive preserving human history, including innumerable human-made artworks, should be nowhere near genAI at any point. It's an active reminder that places like the archive are at risk of being taken down and are currently fodder for data sets.
