And Sen. Jeanne Shaheen @shaheen.senate.gov is retiring when her term ends next year, so she probably just doesn't GAF any more. I'm seriously disappointed in her and Sen. Maggie Hassan @hassan.senate.gov - they were also among the 10 Dem Senators that voted Yes on the GOP budget bill.

As @parkroseperma.bsky.social said in her video, many Senators will confirm nominees who aren't ideal as a "professional courtesy" if that nominee is a former Senator. It's a piss-poor excuse, IMO. If someone's not suitable for the position you find someone else, period. 1/
