As @tupped.bsky.social said on France 24 recently, the fortunate thing is that the legislative process in the EU is so slow, that this whole AI world will have gone tits-up (my wording!) by the time they get round to it and hopefully, by that stage, this will all just be a bad memory.

They'd be subject to the EU Organisation of Working Time Directive, so they can't be breaching maximum working hours of 48 a week (averaged over 4 months), in my view.
