I think it’ll be a slow trickle with a few big splashes but I think the model here in comparison to the bad practices there will end up making this the new place for significant networking and conversation.
I think it’s just a matter of time.

At the end of the day, I think it’s about engagement. Why move to a new site when the one you’re on already has the network? As much as we all want to switch for the “right reasons” the social incentives aren’t there yet.

This makes a little more sense. This obviously depends very much on the kind of institution you are are at but I am very interested in a list of departments and their sabbatical policies.
