💯 That's absolutely correct. I accidentally broadened the topic from cookies. I wasn't being clear or perhaps fair to not state that explicitly.

One example: cookies having different shapes but the same area - for frosting

If frosting is involved, then that scales by the surface area needing coverage

Some ingredients would need to scale quadraticly

It's not always a simple linear scaling

Taking the radius of larger circle R as the hypotenuse of a right triangle with legs: r the inner radius and half of the tangent chord d/2, which are ⊥,

The length² of half-the-chord is found by seeing R² = r² + (d/2)²

The radius² of the new circle is (d/2)^2 = R²-r², A=𝝅(R²-r²) for both areas
