The operative word in this Labour Party Facebook post is 'broke.' The NHS isn't broken, it's chronically under-funded. Characterising is as 'broke' enables Starmer to do something the Tories realised was unthinkable: sell it off to private finance for a short-term cash injection & long-term profit.

The welfare state is a necessary outcome of capitalism. Capitalism by its very nature is exploitive of the workers, taking their excess labor value and pocketing it. Saying the poor or responsible while companies are making record profits is always the worst take.
