If you're coming here to post bait like this, I suggest you haven't the slightest clue what activities would be measurably better for every living being on the planet.

For a numbers guy, invoking one in a hundred thousand here is very casual of you.

The key is to have listened obsessively to Ella's version for decades, never once wondering whether there was a Sinatra version or what the words would mean if there was one. I have lived a charmed life.

Of course that's a true statement about Israel. But paranoia and revanchism are present at every stage of the US. And so is the relationship between real estate and racism. You don't need to look backwards at ancestors to find the profit motive.

While this is a large world so you may be right to some extent, as a Jewish person I do not find that this helps me to understand contemporary Israeli/Zionist racism, for which the vulgar materialist explanation works better: the ground of racism is control of land and exploitation now.

Newsom can't because he intends to run to the right/to restore Silicon Valley to the Dems. Shapiro can't because of Zionist commitments. The person who could really compete, not because her state is as big but because she really could take it to the presidency, is Whitmer.

As a gen-Xer and first day buyer of Born in the USA who was five when Wild World came out, my first reaction was why does she think these two songs released in massively different musical contexts are "the same era"? Then I looked and realized Stevens is one year older than Springsteen. OK I get it.

A one-minute web search for "New Yorker finance Marx" just turned up such articles from 1995 and 2016. I would put money on being able to find one from 2007-08 if I put in the time. I mean, 2007-08?!!!
November 3, 2023 at 2:51 PM
You do know the New Yorker runs an article every 10 years about that, right?

Wait, don't you have to sort by genre AND alphabetize within genre?

I persist in this strange idea that the team that wins the WS should be at least a good team. Also, Phoenix sucks. Go Phillies!

Has nothing to do with whether it's for sale. Why should the same corporate interests get to sell it for 100 years? Why should descendants or estates own it?
