You're acted with integrity. We can see that and admire you.

I never liked the song. I think a large part of that was silver is too expensive and heavy to make a good hammer. But the Beatles had lots and lots of money so I suppose they thought in terms of status weapons. I bet a silver hammer would be harder to wield.

I thought the one on the right was a younger Michael Gove.

Better a cheap knock off than the real thing!

As someone with a fountain pen collection, this made me shudder. But I'm glad your laptop's working again!

I once worked for a company that had a matrix of people and known software languages. If you needed to update a tool, you looked up who could do the work. No SDLC. It was a small and informal organisation. I'm sure things are different nowadays.

Absolutely correct!

I think it's a reference to Able Archer '83.: NATO military exercises that were almost misunderstood as preparations for a nuclear war. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Able_Ar...

I promise to give you my vote in return for your policy banning leaf blowers. You have my complete support!

Yes, very good. Also consider Waterfox.

Reassuring!

It should be sold hot enough to make tea with. Let's stop this chilled water nonsense!
November 24, 2025 at 2:57 PM
There's been decades of low quality news and current affairs in large parts of the country. They were thinking what they'd been told by the people who own Fox etc...

Apple has a support article for importing playlists. I assume that they all do this kind of thing. It relies on sharing credentials though, so yeuch: support.apple.com/en-gb/118249

While it would be emotionally soothing (at first) if politicians had to contribute to their pensions, what we call their pensions are actually a "go away and shut up" payment. In that sense, they are cheaper than the alternative. Imagine a world where Liz Truss had to somehow hang on to office.

Yes, it's a bit slow. But so is Google, its key competitor. And if you just sync files using the native app/process it's as close to invisible as you could reasonably want.
November 4, 2025 at 2:54 PM
I fear you are right. Terribly sad.

I realised you were driven by emotion, not analysis, when you sent several separate messages in quick succession. There's no point engaging with idiots.

That's really useful. Is it specific to ICANN or something common to live transcription at other events, too?
