There were numerous warnings from the NWS. A warning was issued at 1am. The state should seriously put sirens in for the rivers since this is not the first nor will it be last nocturnal flash flood event. It was the worse case scenario that happened.

It’s pretty poor but should be enough to get an alert. Also IOS now has satellite signal you can get too for when you are in remote areas.

I have camped along this river numerous times. I truly think we have to consider expanded the flood plain from 100 to 500 year to keep people safe and have LOUD sirens. We have had so much death in Texas these last few weeks (San Antonio had 14 die on the same creek).

Been keeping my daughter closer. Just heartbreaking. Another tragic flooding event in the hill country.

Native to San Antonio, we are the flash flood capital for a reason. Our topography of the hill country and then storm systems being able to tap gulf and pacific moisture have caused similar events in the past. This is a tragic event and saying we voted for this FUCK OFF. You are sick

The Medias Touch editors made one of these bad takes on here

This is beyond insensitive and you know it. Kids died. Blaming who you voted for as the reason your child is dead is sick. Disgusting behavior that has no place here

I am not sure they even have tornado sirens in Kerr county
July 4, 2025 at 11:27 PM
We really should have sirens similar to tornado sirens for the flooding along rivers.

It’s a common story in the hill country sadly. Reminds me of what happened in Wimberley a few years ago
