Tolkien understood from his experience in WWI that no matter how brave and strong you are, the horrors one incurs in the service of something good can break even the best of us, even if only temporarily. Again, hence the need for Sam - for support, friendship, and love. Both are heroes.

And if you want to criticize Frodo for abandoning Sam and not being able to destroy the Ring in the end, then you don’t understand the mental toll such a burden would create. Frodo was more courageous than any other character in the story, but he was also the most tortured by what had to be done.

Frodo carried an unimaginable burden further than literally anyone else could have, and because Tolkien believed deeply in brotherhood and community, he knew that one couldn’t - and shouldn’t - carry such things alone. Insert Sam and his steadfast support.

Oh yea I understand what he’s saying, but there’s a large portion of the online USMNT fanbase that make it their mission to shit on MLS and anyone who plays in it, so Poch saying anything positive about MLS (and continuously bringing in MLS guys) is going to make them apoplectic, and I love it
